Inspired By Love

The greatest gift God has given us is–“love.” Of course, His love for us is the greatest love of all, but He also put the “ability to love” in our hearts for each other. From the first moment a baby is born–their development is based on whether or not they receive love. Scientists discovered long ago that babies who were not held, cuddled, kissed and loved–developed slower and did not thrive the same way as babies who were “loved” did. Everyone needs to feel loved and appreciated. Love actually inspires us to be better people. When someone expresses love towards us, it makes us want to be our best so that we don’t disappoint them. Whether it is a family member or friend–just knowing someone believes in you, thinks you are wonderful and loves you unconditionally–motivates you to be the best that you can be! Love is so important in our lives that God actually ‘commanded’ us to love each other. Jesus said in John 15:12, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” And in 1 Thessalonians 3:12 we’re told, “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” Start your day by thanking God for the people in your life who love you and don’t forget to thank Jesus too–because He loves you most of all! Text: John 15:13, Romans 13:8, Colossians 3:14, Psalm 108:4
