Kill with Kindness

Most of us have enemies, and although we don’t go out and try to make enemies—there’s always someone who just doesn’t like us. And no matter what we do or say, they are determined to be antagonistic toward us—as if they feel it is their mission in life to make our lives miserable! Jealousy is a huge motivating factor that generates enemies. Of course, there are other reasons, but almost always—selfishness is involved. And of course, we need to be on the alert for our biggest enemy of all . . . Satan! He is by far the most dangerous! There is only one way to fight our enemies, and that is to put on the whole armor of God and shield ourselves with His armor of truth. We need to shower our enemies with love and kill them with kindness. It’s easy to love people who are good to us, but much more difficult to love those who are evil! Yet God commands us to love our enemies—and if we don’t, we won’t spend eternity with Jesus! It’s that simple. So instead of striking back in anger, let’s pray and ask God to put an extra measure of love in our hearts for our enemies—so much in fact, that we couldn’t imagine heaven without them! Texts: Proverbs 25:21- 22, Romans 12:17-21, James 1:20, Luke 6:32-33

Bible Text

Proverbs 25:21-22 NKJV - If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you.

Romans 12:17-21 NKJV - Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

James 1:20 NKJV - for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Luke 6:32-33 NKJV - "But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. "And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
